Grasping for acceptance..

When people accept us, what do we really gain? We don’t even think about it..

Ok. What does it feel like to not be accepted??

So you may feel like you are alone in a world full of people..

You may feel like your thoughts are not important, you may feel voiceless, disempowered, insignificant, powerless, unloved..

Yet, lack of acceptance won’t kill us physically.. It’s not a basic requirement for survival.

Yes. It’s spiritually painful. But the pain is from our NEED to have it.. It will not kill you to not be accepted..

So let’s first understand. If you can learn to not need or seek acceptance, you will no longer feel that pain. It’s a process. It won’t happen over night. But it will lead down a beautiful road where you learn to love yourself & accept who you are. You will no longer start trying to be someone else. Because you will realise how important it is to be the unique person you are. The right people will start coming into your life.. But before we talk about the end results..

What does outside acceptance feel like..??

It pretty much feels like the opposite of not being accepted.

It can feel powerful to be accepted. It feels like Empowerment. However it’s absolutely not. Because ultimately, being truly empowered is all about self acceptance without a need to be accepted..

If people accept you. They may trust you. With people’s trust you can make them think and do you want them to do. Are we all on Earth to be mini manipulators? Is this why we need to be accepted. Do we need everyone to think and act like us? Is that why we need acceptance.? I don’t really know. But I do know that the ego thrives on acceptance..

In the process of trying to be accepted. We ultimately lose ourselves. Because we then have to mould ourselves to fit into other peoples ideaologies as well. So then we gain a better chance of acceptance.. So really. You are not even being accepted anyway.. It’s your representative..

Overstand. Most of the things that you feel when you feel outside acceptance are TEMPORARY.. Acceptance is like a drug. The more you get is the more you need. It will send you down a never ending road of depression. As you seek acceptance in ways that can be self destructive..

Learn to stop seeking acceptance, & just live each day embracing those around you. Realise that you are already whole.

You wonder why you haven’t got real people around you.? You wonder why people keep hurting you? Because those people came to you, while you were subconsciously trying to get away from you, & be accepted by them.. Because you thought YOU were not enough.. But you are enough for the right person/people..

The right and real people you need in your life will naturally gravitate to you, when you are being YOU.

I guess the message is. Be comfortable being you. Stop changing who you are to fit in with people. It gets tiring & when you get tired of pretending, those people will seem to change too. When really, they gravitated to the perception, you gave them..

The journey of self acceptance sometimes requires solitude. It may take a while to remember who you really are. You may need to let some people go. You may need to limit the time you spend around some people. But if you really want to learn to be at peace, you have to do whatever it takes to finally accept and love you..

This journey is your journey. You have one unique life, & a whole lot of unique qualities the world needs. Do not be afraid to be you. Being you gives you life’s greatest rewards..
